Event time is displayed in your time zone.

An interdisciplinary conversation with scholars and makers of literature, philosophy, art, and science, rethinking our relationship to trees and plants and their intersection with temporality, history, physical space, and materiality. Featuring Patricia Dailey, English and Comparative Literature; Nicole Davi, Tree Ring Lab, Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory; Miya Masaoka, artist, Visual Arts + Sound Art; Rachel Grace Newman, African American and African Diaspora Studies; and visual artist and MFA student darylina powderface. Trees bring forth a commonality in our research and artistic output, and, in doing so, allow us to imagine new implications for being and existing in the world.

Panelists will be presenting their recent research and work along these topics. This panel will be led by Miya Masaoka, Chair of the MFA Visual Arts + Sound Art Program.
