Manhattan International Composers' Conference featuring keynote speaker Marcos Balter and CMC grad students

Columbia University's Fritz Reiner Professor of Musical Composition, Marcos Balter, will be the Keynote guest of the 202 Manhattan International Composers Conference. He will be giving a presentation at 9:30 am, and then a panel discussion with two CMC affliates, recent Sound Art MFA graduate Gladstone Butler, and current Composition DMA student Alyssa Regent at 10:30 am. The Manhattan International Composers Conference (MICC) is an event organized by composition doctoral students at the CUNY Graduate Center to explore issues related to composition and new music more broadly.

Rather than focus on the end result of the compositional process, the 2024 conference seeks to engage with composition as a lifelong endeavor.
