Immersive Mixtape Vol. 2 — Fall 2026
Join us for a full day of creative exploration in immersive audio, beginning with a two-part 3D Audio Mixing Workshop led by Eric Lyon and Paul Geluso (open to NYU community with an active NYU ID and guests pre-registered via the RSVP form for Workshop), followed by a panel discussion presented by Presented by Catalyst Culture Labs with panelists: Tyechia Thompson and LaJuné McMillian, moderated by Rhiannon Catalyst .
In the evening, immediately following the panel discussion, we’ll present a concert program featuring four renowned artists/composers performing immersive audio works—all at the NYU Iris Cantor Theatre!
The panel discussion and concert program are open to the public. Tickets are free, but advance registration is required.

The Iris Cantor Theatre is inside NYU’s John A. Paulson Center, with its entrance at 38 W. Houston Street, New York, NY 10012. The box office is located in the first-floor Performing Arts Lobby, and the main entrance to the theater is on the Mezzanine Lobby level.

Open to NYU students, faculty, and staff (active NYU ID required) and pre-registered guests (non-NYU and NYU alumni)
There will be an hour-long break from 12–1 pm
6 pm–7:30 pm — Panel Discussion “When Stories Become Spaces: Immersion, Memory, Embodiment, and Action”
Doors open at 6 p.m.; the discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m.

8 pm–9:30 pm — Immersive Concert
Open to the public. Ticket required.
Doors open at 7:30pm. The concert starts immediately after the Panel Discussion.
Following the panel, experience new spatialized works by music creators working across genres, performed on the 56-channel immersive sound system in NYU’s Cantor Theatre. Surrounded by sound in all directions, audiences will hear music composed specifically to envelop, move through, and inhabit the space. The program features new works by Eric Lyon, Ted Moore, Tyechia Thompson, and Michael Schumacher. (Not in order of appearance.)
