Ása Önnu Ólafsdóttir is a composer, sound artist, guitarist, and improviser. She has a project called Asalaus and has been active in the underground music scene in Reykjavík the past years. Ása has released a few albums, both as Asalaus and as a member of the bands Ateria and Gaffer Ensemble. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources, Ása blends elements from each to create works that are both familiar and wholly original. Her practice is focused on experiments with sound and notation.
