David Su
David Su is a musician, game developer, and researcher. Currently he is a research assistant in the Opera of the Future group at the MIT Media Lab. David recently released Yi and the Thousand Moons, a short video game musical which won Best Style at the 2017 Bit Awards and was nominated for Audio Design at the 2017 TIGA Games Industry Awards. Previously he worked on artificial intelligence for film scoring at Amper Music and did audio software engineering for drum sensor technology at Sunhouse. As a songwriter and drummer David also makes music with singer-songwriter Dominique Star and folk-pop group Morningsiders. His work has been featured in Rolling Stone, A.V. Club, Stereogum, Noisey by VICE, the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), and the Web Audio Conference (WAC) among others; he has performed at venues such as Lincoln Center and events such as SXSW. David received his BA in music and computer science from Columbia University, studying primarily at the Computer Music Center. He is especially interested in creating new interactive musical experiences.
